Aaron Kuhnert: Lead Pastor

Aaron moved to Athens in July of 2011 to start Brookfield Church along with a team of 28 people from Vine Church in Carbondale, Illinois. His responsibilities include casting the overall vision of Brookfield, teaching and preaching, leader development, and overseeing pretty much everything else.  Aaron and his wife Courtney were married in 2002 and have 3 amazing children: Matthew, Nathaniel, and Elaina.

Kenny Basnett: Staff Pastor

According to 1 Timothy 3 every church plant needs an overseer who is a super nice, country, giant redhead guy, with a Masters in Geology, and an amazing wife named Amy.  

And Boom...God gave us Kenny. 

Alex Calvert: Office Administrator

Alex is the least administrative person in the world.

But as the worship leader of Brookfield Church he desperately wants his life to give glory to God, and he knows that God gets more glory from the humble.

For those who might not understand why Jesus would take the least administrative person in the world and make them an office administrator read 1 Corinthians 1:27-29.

Mandy Moore: Bookkeeper

Mandy loves numbers!  No really, she loves numbers so much that she has a bumper sticker that says "numbers are people too".  Sometimes she has trouble distinguishing between numbers and the members of her own family.

We're trying to get her a little help with that, but for the time being extend her some grace if she refers to you as an integer.

Sarah Smith: Children's Director

As our Children's Director, Sarah is in charge of Brookfield Kids, our ministry for children from nursery age through the fifth grade. She is responsible for making sure our Sunday morning Kid's Church is fun, impactful, and safe. 

Sarah has a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University and years of experience caring for and teaching kids about Jesus.
