Vision
The vision of Brookfield Church is to be a multi-ethnic community of believers who worship Jesus and make authentic disciples of the people in the Athens area.
Values
Pursuing the Living God. We want to know God, worship him, and follow him passionately.
Following Jesus. Our intent is to believe Jesus' words, obey his commands, and do his works. We aim first to grow as authentic followers of Jesus ourselves and to then help others to follow him.
The Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit as our Helper and Counselor. We want to be responsive to the Holy Spirit's daily leading in our personal lives and in the church.
The Bible. We believe the Bible is God's word to us. We want to build our relationship with him by learning his words and applying them to our lives. It is our standard for what we believe and for what we do.
Prayer and Worship. We believe prayer and worship are essential because they are our primary means of maintaining our relationship with God. We love God and we want to be with him.
People. All races, ages, styles, backgrounds... everyone! God loved us enough to send Jesus, so we also love others. We want to live out this love consistently through caring for people.
Cultural Relevance. We want our music, atmosphere, language, and teaching style to be understandable and relevant to those around us.
Mercy and Compassion. Mercy and compassion are the very things God extended to us when he rescued us. Because of this, we believe we should extend mercy and compassion to others.
Integrity. We desire to be honest, open, and transparent in our relationships. We believe that speaking the truth to one another in love, and living a lifestyle consistent with our beliefs is of vital importance.
Generosity. God has been so generous with us. We aspire to be a generous community that passes along his kindness. We do this primarily through planting new churches and helping the poor.
Simplicity. We believe that we should never do anything for "religious effect." Consequently, our church life is characterized by a natural, relaxed, simple, honest style that is free from hype and manipulation.
