What to expect

Join us on Sunday mornings at 10:00 at 5 N Court St, in Athens!

At Brookfield Church we want to worship God together in a way that is casual, relevant, and real.  Here's what you can expect to happen each Sunday:

Before the Service

When you walk into our service, you'll probably see people hanging out, sipping coffee, and eating bagels.  Feel free to do the same.  You can also bring the coffee and food into the service.  The time before the service is also a great chance for you to meet people or just sit down, browse through your program, and relax.

Kid's Church

We begin welcoming children, infants through 5th grade, into our Kid's Church 15 minutes before the start of the service.  You may register your child at the Kid's Registration Center before they attend class for the first time.  Ask the classroom teacher any questions you have and help us learn about the specific needs of your child.

After the service is over, the kids workers will remain with your child until you come and pick them up.

Worship

Our band starts the service by leading us in singing songs to God for 15-20 minutes.  This isn't just singing about God, but it's doing what He created us for - honoring and loving Him.  We want to worship in a manner that's real, and for us, that means genuine heartfelt response to God through music you can relate to.

Offering

Jesus made it very clear that Christians give their best to God in every area of life, including financially.  Tithing (giving a tenth of one's income) is more than supporting your church's mission - it is a vital act of worship to God.  However, if you are just visiting or you're not a Christian, please do not feel obligated to give.

Teaching

We believe the Bible contains God's perfect and true words written down for us to apply to every part of life.  Many people who haven't read the Bible much think it is difficult to understand, but actually, it's pretty clear and practical.  And since the entire Bible revolves around Jesus and what he did for us on the cross, that's what we teach.   Recent Sermons

Prayer

At the end of each service, those who would like are invited forward during the last song of worship, to receive prayer.   We believe that God is real and that He really answers prayer. He is loving and wants to help us with our problems and is also powerful and able to help.  No one will pressure you to go forward to receive prayer, and if you don't want prayer you can just stay at your seat.

We offer classes to help people get to know what we're about. We call those classes our Brookfield Series.  Click here for more details.
