Aaron moved to Athens in July of 2011 to start Brookfield Church along with a team of 28 people from Vine Church in Carbondale, Illinois. His responsibilities include casting the overall vision of Brookfield, teaching and preaching, leader development, and overseeing pretty much everything else. Aaron and his wife Courtney were married in 2002 and have 5 amazing children: Matthew, Nathaniel, Elaina, Annelise and Judah. In his spare time Aaron enjoys all things outdoors, rooting for the Chicago Bears, and anything that has bigger tires than it should.
David is a staff pastor who leads the Thursday night Discipleship Community, oversees integration, and leads a small group during the week. He enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, and traveling with his wife, Erin. David and his wife have three daughters: Gwendolyn, Sutton, and Chapel.
Nate is a staff pastor who leads the Wednesday night Discipleship Community. He oversees the campus outreach team, Sunday morning operations, and assists with administrative work at the church. He also leads a small group on Tuesday nights. Nate and his wife, Dottie, enjoy reading, rooting for their beloved Buckeyes, and doing all things active.
Alex serves as our worship leader. In addition to leading the church in worship and developing those with musical abilities, he maintains all of our facilities. Alex likes to spend his free time meeting new students; exploring the great outdoors with his wife, Mandy, and daughter, Faith; and quoting entire movies from memory.
Bethany is our operations manager. Her responsibilities include the day-to-day operations of the office, graphic design, social media, and anything else that needs a creative touch. In her free time, she likes playing guitar, hanging out with friends, and riding her RipStik.
As our Children's Director, Sarah is in charge of Brookfield Kids, our ministry for children from nursery age through the fifth grade. She is responsible for making sure our Sunday morning Kids Church is fun, impactful, and safe. Sarah has a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys cooking, gardening, and traveling with her husband, Tim; son, Jaxon; and daughter, Eliza.
Kim serves as Brookfield Church’s bookkeeper and accountant. Her role includes overseeing the money and finances for the church. Believe it or not, Kim has a considerable passion for numbers and even sought to make it a career, getting degrees in both mechanical and industrial engineering. When she’s not at the church, she’s busy being a mom to her three great kids: Caleb, Anna, and Noah; watching sports with her husband, Jeff; or crocheting.
